Energy Market highlights gathered by Industrial Info and IIR Energy
PRODUCTION
Permian Oil Production Set to Hit Record in December - Oil output in the Permian Basin is set to hit another record of 5.499 million barrels per day (BBL/d) in December, but production is rising very slowly. Overall, U.S. crude oil output in shale regions is due to rise by a mere 91,000 BBL/d to 9.191 million BBL/d in December, the highest since March 2020, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its monthly productivity report on Monday. Natural gas output in the Permian and the Haynesville in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas will rise to record highs of 21.3 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) and 16.3 Bcf/d in December, respectively. (Reuters)
IEA: Russian Oil Production to Fall 1.4 Million BBL/d Next Year - Russian oil output is set to fall 1.4 million BBL/d next year after a European Union (EU) ban on seaborne exports of Russian crude comes into effect, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said on Tuesday. The EU will ban Russian crude oil imports from December 5 and Russian oil products from February 5, depriving Russia of oil revenues and forcing one of the world's top oil producers and exporters to seek alternative markets. (Reuters)
LNG
Germany Completes Construction of Floating LNG Terminal - Germany on Tuesday completed construction of its first floating terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the North Sea port of Wilhelmshaven as it scrambles to secure more LNG and move away from Russian pipeline gas. The new port infrastructure will be equipped to switch to future imports of low-carbon energy sources such as hydrogen.
