Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--The preliminary feasibility study report of Shanxi Wangjialing Coal Industry Company Limited's (Xinzhou, Shanxi) 700-megawatt (MW) Wangjialing Coal Gangue Power Project passed an examination from an expert panel on May 14, 2013, according to an announcement from Shanxi Electric Power Exploration & Design Institute (SXED) (Taiyuan, Shanxi), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijng), on May 20.
During the examination meeting, the preliminary feasibility study report prepared by the SXED was presented and reviewed by the expert panel from various aspects in details, including reviews on external conditions, such as market analysis, site selection, water and fuel sources, and the general layout and installation scheme.
As reported, the proposed plant site is inside the Wangjialing Cyclic Economic Industrial Park of Baode County, in Xinzhou City, in central China's Shanxi province, which is very close to the SXED's coal preparation plant in Wangjialing. According to the preliminary feasibility study report, the project will use coal waste and gangue from the SXED's Wangjialing underground coal mine and associated coal preparation plant, which has a design capacity 5 million metric tons per year. The project will be furnished with two supercritical, coal-fired, circulate fluidized-bed (CFB) boilers and 350-MW air-cooling steam turbine generators, together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration systems.
The project is invested by Shanxi Coal Transportation and Sales Group Company Limited (Taiyuan, Shanxi), one of the leading coal producers and distributors in Shanxi. As an important link in the proposed Wangjiangling coal, power, aluminum, chemical, materials and logistics industrial park, construction of the project is beneficial to the cyclic utilization of resources, which will actively promote the adjustment of local coal-dominated industrial structure, as well as the New Shanxi Construction Program proposed by the local government.
