PriolloGargallo Prepares Maintenance at Italy South ISAB Plant

Industrial Info Resources Latin America (Cordoba, Argentina)--ISAB Refinery (Priolo Gargallo) (Italy), a joint venture between LUKOIL Europe Holding BV (Russia) (80%) and ERG SpA (Italy) (20%), is continuing to plan and schedule a minor maintenance turnaround at the south plant of the 364,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) ISAB Priolo Gargallo refinery.

The refinery is composed of two main plants: the ISAB Priolo Gargallo North Plant (240,000 BBL/d) and the ISAB Priolo Gargallo South Plant (124,000 BBL/d). It is located in Priolo Gargallo, in the Sicilia region.

Priolo Gargallo South will undergo a minor maintenance turnaround. The turnaround will entail mostly preventive work, such as catalyst change-out and cleaning of the heat exchangers in the Visbreaker (Unit 1600) (52,000 BBL/d), the Ultra HDS (40,700 BBL/d), and other secondary and auxiliary units. Repairs are scheduled to be accomplished within 20 days.

ISAB South had a previous preventive maintenance turnaround in March 2013, and the major plant-wide turnaround, involving all processing units at the plant, is expected to be in March 2015, in order to meet its four-year run turnaround cycle.

Separately, the ISAB North Plant follows a five-year, plant-wide run turnaround cycle, which is scheduled to take place sometime during 2018.
