U.S. is First Country to Export 10 Million Tons of LNG in Single Month - The U.S. has become the first country to export 10 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in a single month, according to preliminary data from financial firm LSEG. The U.S. exported a record 10.1 million metric tons of the liquid fuel in October, up from a revised figure of 9.1 million tons in September, LSEG data showed. (Reuters)
QatarEnergy CEO: North Field Expansion to Start LNG Production in Second-Half 2026 - The chief executive officer of QatarEnergy (Doha, Qatar) told Reuters on Monday that the company's massive North Field expansion project will produce its first LNG in the second half of 2026. "I'm still looking at somewhere in mid-2026, in the third, fourth quarter '26 maximum," Saad al-Kaabi said in an interview on the sidelines of the annual ADIPEC energy conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emeriates. When at full production, the North Field expansion project is expected to produce 126 million metric tons of LNG per annum by 2027, boosting QatarEnergy's output by some 85% from its current 77 million tons per annum. Diamondback Energy to Sell Unit's Assets for $670 Million - Diamondback Energy (Midland, Texas) said it would sell its subsidiary Viper Energy's non-Permian assets for $670 million to an affiliate of GRP Energy Capital (Dallas, Texas) and Warwick Capital Partners (London, England). The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026. (Reuters)
