Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) is tracking projects valued at more than $2 billion that involve engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm Saulsbury Industries (Odessa, Texas). While most of the projects involve natural gas processing, the company is wrapping up a couple of waste heat-fueled power projects.
Among the projects soon to be completed by Saulsbury is the Phase II plant expansion at DCP Midstream LLC's (NYSE:DCP) (Denver, Colorado) O'Connor natural gas processing plant in Kersey, Colorado. The project entails adding 200 million cubic feet per day of processing capacity, bringing total plant capacity to 360 million cubic feet per day. The project kicked off last summer and is expected to be completed soon. A Phase III expansion of the plant is in the planning stage, which would add a further 200 million cubic feet per day of processing capacity. This could kick off early next year. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on the Phase II and Phase III expansions.
In Texas, Saulsbury is acting as general contractor on Apache Corporation's (NYSE:APA) (Houston) Diamond cryogenic natural gas processing plant at the company's Alpine High development in Balmorhea. The plant will have a processing capacity of 200 million cubic feet per day. Construction on the first train began last summer and is expected to wrap up soon. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report. Construction of a second and third train, each with a processing capacity of 200 million cubic feet per day, began in the third quarter of last year and is expected to be completed in third-quarter 2019. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on Train 2 and Train 3.
In Coyanosa, Texas, Vaquero Midstream (The Woodlands, Texas) will soon kick off construction on the Phase III unit addition at its Camus cryogenic natural gas processing plant, with Saulsbury acting as general contractor. The project will add 200 million cubic feet per day of processing capacity, bringing total plant capacity to 600 million cubic feet per day. The facility will use Honeywell UOP Russell (Tulsa, Oklahoma) technology. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year. A fourth-phase addition could begin in 2020, bringing total plant capacity to 800 million cubic feet per day. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on Phase III and Phase IV.
Saulsbury also is putting the finishing touches on a couple of power projects. In Ponca City, Oklahoma, Saulsbury performed EPC on the addition of 29-megawatt (MW) cogeneration power block unit at a carbon black facility owned by Continental Carbon Company (Houston). The project, which kicked off in 2016, entailed installing two 14.5-MW waste heat recovery steam generators, boilers and electrical distribution equipment. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
In Franklin, Louisiana, Saulsbury was general contractor in the construction of CLECO Corporation's (Pineville, Louisiana) 50-MW St. Mary Clean Energy Center, which will use waste heat generated by Cabot Corporation's (Boston, Massachusetts) carbon black facility. Construction began in 2016. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
