Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Tetra Tech Incorporated (NASDAQ:TTEK) (Pasadena, California), a global consulting and engineering-service provider that is consistently ranked by Engineering News-Record as one of the 10 best in the U.S., is involved in a variety of projects in the Power Generation, Oil & Gas Pipeline and Industrial Manufacturing industries. Tetra Tech has a hand in $1.17 billion in project completions and $4.1 billion in project starts that are planned for the fourth quarter, according to Industrial Info's project database.

Natural Gas-Fired Power, Commercial Distribution Centers to Wrap Up
The highest-profile project involving Tetra Tech that is expected to wrap up later this year is Advanced Power AG's (Zug, Switzerland) $800 million Carroll County Energy Center in Carrollton, Ohio. The natural gas-fired, combined-cycle (NGCC) facility will generate 700 megawatts (MW) from two combustion turbines, each with a 210-MW capacity, and a 280-MW steam turbine, all provided by General Electric (NYSE:GE). Tetra Tech is an environmental consultant on the project.

The Carroll County Energy Center is near American Electric Power Company Incorporated's (NYSE:AEP) (Columbus, Ohio) transmission lines and Kinder Morgan Incorporated's (NYSE:KMI) (Houston, Texas) Tennessee Gas Pipeline system, through which it is expected to sell energy and ancillary services to the PJM market, according to Advanced Power's website. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Tetra Tech also will see two distribution centers on the U.S. East and West coasts wrap up before the end of the year. Amazon.com Incorporated (NASDAQ:AMZN) (Seattle, Washington) is adding the finishing touches to its $200 million distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida, for which Tetra Tech is performing civil engineering services. The 855,000-square-foot building is one of several projects from Amazon in the Jacksonville area.

Amazon began shipping orders from the unfinished facility late in August, although it soon had to close its doors due to Hurricane Irma, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record. Amazon resumed operations at the distribution center toward the middle of September, after it found no substantial damage. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Another distribution center set to finish construction is McClellan Business Park LLC's $59 million facility in Richmond, California. The former McClellan Air Force Base is now being used to attract corporate tenants, such as China Sunergy Company Limited (Nanjing, China), a solar cell and module manufacturer, and RV Storage Depot (Tustin, California), which specializes in recreational vehicle and boat storage. Tetra Tech has been designing expansions for crude-oil pump stations along the pipeline's path, among them:

Tetra Tech also is a consultant on NRG Energy Incorporated's (NYSE:NRG) (Houston, Texas) $320 million Canal Power Station in Sandwich, Massachusetts, which would generate 330 MW from a GE dual-fuel combustion turbine. The project is set to be complete in late 2019, but could face delays due to concerns from environmental groups.
