Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Monticello Power Station, located in Mount Pleasant, Texas, shut down its 793-megawatt (MW) Unit 3 on 4 a.m. Friday after a boiler reheat leak. The plant is owned by Luminant Energy (Dallas, Texas), a subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings (Dallas).

Plant sources are investigating the issue and will begin repairs after they find the exact location of the leak.
When repairs are completed, the officials will begin the startup process to return the unit online Sunday, September 14, there are no delays.
The power plant has three generating units and a total generating capacity of 1,980 megawatts (MW) when at full load. Units 1 and 2 remain online at full load.
