Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Unit 1 of CLP Fangchenggang power plants Phase I project passed its trial run of 168 hours at full load and officially went into operation September 24, 2007. The project is jointly invested by China Light and Power Holdings Limited (CLP) (Hong Kong, China) (70%) and Guangxi Water Resources and Electric Power Construction Group (Guangxi, China) (30%). CLP Fangchenggang, the largest foreign-invested electric power project in southern Chinas Guangxi Autonomous Region, has a total planned installation capacity of 2,400 megawatts (MW). Two 600-MW supercritical coal-fired units will be built in Phase I. Unit 2 is expected to go into operation in the first quarter 2008.
Also on September 24, 2007, the 600-MW Unit 2 of Guodian Chengdu Jintang power plants Phase I project passed its trial run of 168 hours at full load and officially went into operation in southwestern Chinas Sichuan Province. The plants 600-MW Unit 1 officially went into commercial operation June 3, 2007. The project is jointly invested by China Guodian Corporation (Beijing, China) (65%) and NWS Holdings Limited (Hong Kong, China) (35%). The projects construction began in August 2006, when a $154 million, 200-MW combined-heat and coal-fired unit was built. The project could provide heat to cover 2.84 million square meters and produce 1 billion kilowatt-hours of annual power output upon completion.
