Chevron Phillips Chemical is shutting down its 3,300 million-pound-per-year 1594 ethylene unit and 1,840-million-pound-per-year 1592 ethylene unit in preparation for extreme winter temperatures over the upcoming weekend. Expectations are to restart the units on December 25.

LyondellBasell Industries, on December 19, unexpectedly shut down its 2,500 million-pound-per-year olefins unit in Corpus Christi, Texas. Expectations are to restart the unit by December 24.

Indorama Ventures Oxides & Glycols LLC is shutting down some of the derivative units at its oxides and olefins plant in Port Neches, Texas, in preparation for Winter Storm Elliot.

Yeochun NCC Company Limited's 1,036-million-pound-per-year ethylene unit at its Yeosu Chemicals No 3 Plant in South Korea, remains offline due to poor market conditions. Expectations are to restart the unit by February 26, 2023.
