Nova Chemicals, on July 22, was forced to shut down its 1,950 million-pound-per-year ethylene unit in Geismar, Louisiana due to a complication with a compressor. Expectations are to restart the unit next week.
Westlake Petrochemicals Corporation is on schedule to perform a 45-day turnaround of its 1,600 million-pound-per-year Petro 1 ethylene unit in Sulphur, Louisiana in September. An exact start date is under review and the unit is expected to restart in October.
Nova Chemicals, on July 20, began an approximately 45-day turnaround of its 1,880 million-pound-per-year E2 ethylene unit in Joffre, Alberta. Expectations are to restart the unit by the end of August.
