Formosa Plastics' 1,650 million-pound-per-year Olefins 1 unit in Point Comfort, Texas, remains shut down due to turbine complications caused by Hurricane Beryl. The unit shut down on July 8 and is currently expected to restart in late September.

Dow Olefinverbund GmbH started 44 days of planned repair work on the 1,246 million-pound-per-year ethylene unit at its Boehlen Chemical Complex in Germany. As a result, two furnaces are offline, and the unit is derated by 50%. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by September 20.
