North America
WRB continues with pre-turnaround work on the 120,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Crude DU-2 Unit, which will shut down in early March for five weeks of maintenance, at its 356,000-BBL/d Wood River Refinery in Roxana, Illinois. Separately, restart procedures on the 170,000-BBL/d Crude DU-1 Unit are underway after a leak forced it offline on January 4.
Chevron, on January 9, shut down the 78,750-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracker Unit (FCCU) and associated units for a 45-day planned turnaround, and three other units and associated units for a 30-day turnaround, at its 325,000-BBL/d refinery in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Valero, on January 7, started 30 days of planned maintenance on the 54,000-BBL/d FCCU 61 and 20,000-BBL/d Hydrofluoric Alkylation (HF Alky) 68 Unit at its 80,000-BBL/d refinery in Wilmington, California.
International
SK Energy Company Limited continues normal operations at its 840,000-BBL/d Ulsan Complex in South Korea, after a fire was reported at the battery storage facility inside the complex on January 12.
Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) has delayed the startup of the BAPCO Modernization Project at its 267,000-BBL/d Sitrah Refinery in Bahrain. The project now is expected to begin commercial operations by May 25, 2023. As a result, a 30-day hookup shutdown of the 60,000-BBL/d Mild Hydrocracker has been rescheduled to begin on April 16, 2023.
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has rescheduled the 20-day planned shutdown of the 36,000-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater at its 160,000-BBL/d Mathura Refinery in India. After being expected to begin January 2 of this year, the shutdown now is expected by January 4, 2023.
