BP-Husky Refining LLC experienced a fire at its 160,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Toledo, Ohio on Tuesday night that caused a plant-wide shutdown. Plant personnel are investigating the exact cause and the extent of the damage, and a restart date is not known at this time.

Valero, on September 20, was forced to shut down one of the three sulfur recovery units (SRU) at its 225,000-BBL/d Texas City, Texas, refinery, after a power blip. The unit is in the process of restarting, and is expected to return within the next 24 hours.

International
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) continues operating the 175,000-BBL/d Delayed Coker Unit (DCU) at 74% at its 760,000-BBL/d Jamnagar SEZ Refinery in India, due to an ongoing planned shutdown of the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) 1. The DCU is expected to resume full throughput by October 17.

ENEOS Corporation has begun a planned turnaround of the 95,200-BBL/d CDU 2 and 49,000-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracker Unit (FCCU) within the 200,200-BBL/d Plant B (Area 1-B) at its 350,200-BBL/d Mizushima Refinery in Japan. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the CDU 2 on November 25, and the FCCU on November 23.

PDVSA, on September 19, was forced to shut down all processing units at its 181,500-BBL/d Puerto La Cruz Refinery in Venezuela, due to a fire in the water treatment area.
