Glencore subsidiary Mopani Copper Mines has suspended all operations at the Mindola Copper Mine in Zambia following the death of three miners in a fire. The owners would likely to reassess the situation and will try to resume production soon in order to minimize productivity loss. Glencore is currently investing more than $1.1 billion in Zambia to sink three shafts at the Mopani Copper Mine with new technology leading to a life extension of more than 25 years.
