Reported by Annette Kreuger, Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Construction has been completed on ALK-Abello's (Spring Mills, Pennsylvania) new $32 million production plant in Post Falls, Idaho. Originally planned by Biopol Laboratories Incorporated (Spokane, Washington), Biopol, its parent company Vespa Laboratories and the project were absorbed into ALK-Abello in January 2008. ALK-Abello's corporate parent, Danish company ALK-Abello Group, focuses on allergy diagnosis and therapies, and the Post Falls plant will process the live plant ingredient needed for its new allergy treatment.
First reported in January 2007 in Industrial Info's Pharmaceutical Tracker - Online Database, the project was expanded to include a three-story, 85,000-square-foot building. Engineered by IPS (Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania), the plant was built by Hoffman Construction (Portland, Oregon). The new plant is expected to eventually employ 50 people. There is ample space on the 12.5-acre building site in Riverbend Commerce Park for the planned future expansions.
