Alone or through joint ventures, the company has 1,693 megawatts (MW) in operation today via hydropower plants, windfarms and biomass facilities.
CPFL plans to expand its installed capacity with another 1,458.2 MW over the next two years through wind power projects in the states of Bahia (712.6 MW), Ceara (261 MW), Rio Grande do Norte (502.2 MW), Rio Grande do Sul (120 MW) and Rio de Janeiro (135 MW). CPFL has 701 MW in the planning phase, 235 MW in the engineering phase and 386.2 MW under construction, which should be operational until July 2014.
