China Huadian's Power Output up 29.4% in 2007

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In 2007, the power output of China Huadian Corporation and its affiliates reached 258.12 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), an increase of 29.4% year over year. Consumption in power supply reached 347.11 grams per kWh, a drop of 8.71 grams per kWh compared with the previous year. SO2 emissions decreased 3.63 grams per kWh, a drop of 47% year over year.

By the end of 2007, the company had 15 units with single capacity of 600 megawatts (MW) or above with a newly installed capacity of 9,590 MW, accounting for 82.9% of the total capacity of thermal power units, going into operation. In total, 40 units with an installed capacity 16,840 MW were newly equipped with desulfurization devices in 2007. In implementing the country's policy on energy conservation and emissions reduction, 31 small thermal power units with an installed capacity 17,590 MW were terminated in 2007.

In 2008, China Huadian will work to promote scientific development, to strengthen energy conservation and emissions reduction and to accelerate reform and renovation to achieve the goal of having more than 80,000 MW in installed capacity, 400 billion kWh in annual power output, $834.6 million in net profit and 7% in yield of net assets by 2010, as outlined in the 11th five-year plan (2006-10), said Cao Peixi, President of China Huadian Corporation.
