Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Anhui Electric Power Construction No. 1 Engineering Company (AEPC1) (Hefei, Anhui) completed the water pressure test for the No. 1 boiler, which is part of the 700-megawatt (MW), Phase III cogeneration expansion project at the Tangshan West Suburban Power Plant, according to a May 9 announcement. AEPC1 is a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing). The project belongs to China Resources Power Tangshan Fengrun Company Limited (Tangshan, Hebei).
During the test, water pressure was kept at an operational level of 26.7 megapascals (MPa) for 20 minutes, and was raised to 40.05 MPa for five minutes. No leakage was found in the welding seams and joints.
The Tangshan West Suburban Cogeneration Plant is located in the Fengrun District of Tangshan City, in northern China's Hebei province. The expansion project includes two 350-megawatt (MW), extraction-condensing, coal-fired units, with flue-gas desulfurization and NOx control devices for combined heat and power supply.
Harbin Turbine Company Limited (Harbin, Heilongjiang), Harbin Electric Machinery Company Limited (Harbin, Heilongjiang) and Babcock & Wilcox Beijing Company Limited (Beijing) will supply the main turbine, generator and boiler equipment.
APEC1 is mainly responsible for the installation of units 1 and 2, as well as the 220-kilovolt outdoor electrical devices. Construction kicked off in May 2013.
The first unit is scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2014, and the both units will be operating by the first quarter of 2015.
