China's Jinchuan Group to Expand Copper Smelting

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Jinchuan Group International Resources Company Limited (Hong Kong, China) will invest 4.92 billion yuan (US$730 million) to expand its copper smelter in Fangchenggang by building a 300,000-ton pyrometallurgical smelting system.

Jinchuan Group also plans to invest 5.022 billion yuan (US$740 million) to build a 357,800-ton copper smelter in Jinchang's Hexibao district.

The Fangchenggang project has begun site preparation and earthwork, and is scheduled to go into operation in two years.

The smelter project in Jinchang City's Hexibao district is targeted to begin earthwork in September and begin operations in 2025.
