Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Coca-Cola North America, a division of The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO) (Atlanta, Georgia), is a couple of months away from completing a $33 million expansion project at a bottling facility in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Coca-Cola's expansion plans call for construction of a 16,000-square-foot addition to the 455,000-square-foot facility, a wastewater pre-treatment facility, and the addition of a fourth bottling line. The company started construction on the project last fall and is on schedule to finish by the end of April.
Northampton was among several sites being considered for the project. The facility opened in 1995 and currently bottles products that can be stored at room temperature.
Hixson Architecture & Engineering (Cincinnati, Ohio) provided design and engineering services for the project, while RC Stevens Construction (Orlando, Florida) served as the general contractor. American Refrigeration (Andover, Massachusetts) was awarded the refrigeration contract.
