Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Energy Northwest's (Richland, Washington) 1,153-megawatt (MW) Columbia Nuclear Generating Station was running at less than half-strength on Monday, following a transformer issue on Saturday.
The station was running at 45% capacity as of Monday morning, according to plant personnel. Plant officials had down-powered the station on Saturday after a high ground current flow occurred in the transformer.
Officials anticipate returning the unit to full power by Wednesday, following repairs.
