Alberta Extends Oil Production Cuts - Alberta is extending its crude oil output cuts by a year as delays to key pipelines threaten to prolong a glut of crude in the region. The curtailment program, which will now end in December 2020, had been slated to wrap up at the end of this year as Enbridge Incorporated's (NYSE:ENB) expansion of the Line 3 pipeline began moving oil. Work Restarts on Canada's Trans Mountain Pipeline - Trans Mountain Corporation said on Wednesday it is restarting construction on parts of its pipeline to nearly triple the flow of crude oil from Alberta's oil sands to the British Columbia coast, a year after the project's latest regulatory setback. The Canadian government purchased the project last year to help ensure the completion of the expansion of the pipeline to 890,000 barrels per day after years of delay. Last year, a Canadian court overturned the federal government's 2016 approval of the project on the grounds it had failed to adequately consult indigenous groups.
