Eastern China's Fujian Province Finalizes 490 Key Construction Projects Worth $528 Billion for 2014

Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--The government of the Fujian province recently finalized 490 key construction projects for 2014, according to an announcement from the Development and Reform Commission of Fujian on February 26, 2014. The projects have a total investment value of $528 billion. Compared with the previous year, there are 40 fewer projects, but the accumulative value is about $33 billion more.
Among the key projects, 357 with a total investment value of $355 billion are under construction, and 133 that are worth $173 billion are in pre-stage preparation. Of these projects, those scheduled for 2014 have a total investment value of about $54.1 billion.
A total of 26 key energy projects appear on this year's list. According to the schedule, the projects that will kick off construction this year are units 5 and 6 at the Fuqing Nuclear Power Station; Shenhua Group's (Beijing) Fujian Luoyuan Bay Coal Storage and Power Generation Complex; and the Zhangzhou Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal.
A batch of power-source projects will begin operations, such as Unit 3 at the Ningde Nuclear Power Station; Unit 1 at the Fuqing Nuclear Power Station; and the Guodian Xiapu Yanting Windfarm. The province is expected to see 3 gigawatts (GW) added in 2014. About 38.9 million kilovolt amperes (kVA) of substation capacity and 13,289 kilometers of transmission lines will be built.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation's (CNOOC) (Beijing) Fujian Emergency Response & Maintenance Center and the Fujian Section of the Trunk Line of the Third National West-To-East Gas Transmission Pipeline will begin operations, and part of the Phase II expansion of the Haixi Natural Gas Pipeline will be commissioned in 2014. In addition, pre-stage preparation for a batch of power source projects, including the Xiamen Pump-Storage Power Station and the Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Project, will be accelerated in 2014.
