Canadian Indigenous Nations to Buy Pipeline Stake from Enbridge - Canadian pipeline operator Enbridge Incorporated (Calgary, Alberta) is selling a stake in its Westcoast natural gas system to a consortium of 36 First Nations, the first deal to include financing from a new federal loan program aimed at helping Indigenous groups own parts of resource projects. Enbridge said on Thursday that Stonlasec8 Indigenous Alliance will buy a 12.5% stake in its Westcoast pipeline for C$715 million (US$511.19 million). (Reuters)

Utility Vistra to Buy Natural Gas Assets to Meet Power Demand - Utility Vistra Energy Corporation (Irving, Texas) said on Thursday it would acquire seven natural gas generation facilities, with a combined capacity of nearly 2,600 megawatts, from Lotus Infrastructure Partners (Greenwich, Connecticut) for $1.9 billion, as it looks to meet growing power demand. The deal includes five combined-cycle gas turbine facilities and two combustion turbine facilities located across PJM, New England, New York and California, Vistra said. (Reuters)

UAE to Up Value of U.S. Energy Investment to $440 Billion by 2035 - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) plans to raise its energy investments in the United States to $440 billion in the next decade, it said on Friday, boosting U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts to secure major business deals on a Gulf tour. The wealthy oil power's strategy, which aligns with global growth ambitions for its companies, was announced during a presentation by Abu Dhabi oil giant Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's (Abu Dhabi, UAE) Chief Executive Officer Sultan Al Jaber to Trump during the last stage of the president's regional trip. The enterprise value of UAE investments in the U.S. energy sector will rise to $440 billion by 2035 from $70 billion now, Al Jaber told Trump, adding that U.S. energy firms will also invest in the UAE.
