U.S. Driller EOG Sees Higher Production, Realized Price in Fourth Quarter - EOG Resources said higher output and elevated natural gas prices offset the impact of a drop in crude oil prices. EOG produced about 1.40 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared with 1.09 million boe/d a year earlier. The company's $5.6 billion purchase of Encino Acquisition Partners in May helped lift production and broadened EOG's foothold in the Utica Shale, one of the country's most productive natural gas regions. The average realized prices for natural gas stood at $3 per thousand cubic feet (Mcf), compared with $2.57 per Mcf a year earlier. The average realized price of oil, however, fell to $59.54 per barrel from $71.66 per barrel a year earlier. (Reuters)

U.S. Seizes Third Sanctioned Oil Tanker in Indian Ocean, Pentagon Says - U.S. military forces seized a sanctioned oil tanker in the Indian Ocean after tracking it from Caribbean waters, the Pentagon said on Tuesday, adding that it was the third such interdiction in that region. In a post on X, the U.S. Department of War said its forces boarded the Bertha overnight. It accused the crude oil tanker of seeking to defy Iran-related sanctions. The Bertha, which flies under a Cook Islands flag, is linked to Shanghai Legendary Ship Management Company Limited and falls under sanctions imposed in January 2020, according to the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control. The Bertha departed in early January from Venezuelan waters as part of a flotilla that has been seized by the U.S. almost completely. The ship was carrying some 1.9 million barrels of Merey heavy crude oil bound for China, according to shipping reports from Venezuelan state company PDVSA. (Reuters)

NRG Plans for More Data Center Power Contracts - U.S. power utilty NRG Energy said it aims to sign at least 1 gigawatt of data center deals this year and expects to add significant new capacity for data centers. NRG further added in its recent earnings call that it now expects to spend about $18.3 billion in capital expenditures through 2030. (Reuters)
