Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--The feasibility study report for China Datang Corporation's (Beijing) Xingren Coal and Power Complex passed the examination of an expert panel during an examination meeting held by the Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (Beijing), a subsidiary of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation (CPECC) (Beijing), in Guiyang from May 30 to 31, 2012, according to an announcement from China Datang Corporation on June 4, 2012.
Datang Xingren Coal and Power Complex, located in Baling Town in Xingren County, is one of the key power source construction projects listed in the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-15) for the Guizhou province. China Datang Corporation Guizhou Branch Company (Guiyang, Guizhou) is responsible for the pre-stage preparation of the project.
According to plans, the project will have four 660-megawatt (MW) units based on integrated development of power and associated coal mines. Of these, two 660-MW, supercritical, coal-fired units, together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices, will be built in Phase I. Total investment in Phase I will be about $760 million. It's expected that the project will begin construction in 2013 and begin commissioning in 2015. Upon completion, the project will meet the increasing power demand in Guizhou Grid and the South China Power Grid, and will greatly promote the local social and economic development through the conversion of local rich coal resources into power.
Southwest Electric Power Design Institute (Chengdu, Sichuan) and Nanjing Coal Design Institute (Nanjing, Jiangsu) is responsible for the feasibility study of the power plant and the associated coal mine, respectively. During the examination meeting, the content of the feasibility study report was introduced and then discussed in specialty groups. The expert panel finally concluded that the project conforms to the requirements of related specifications and has excellent construction conditions, and it expressed its wishes that the project will be approved and start construction as early as possible.
