Energy Market highlights gathered by Industrial Info and IIR Energy
LNG
Freeport LNG Back at Full Capacity - U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Freeport LNG's (Houston, Texas) export plant in Texas was on track to pull in as much natural gas from pipelines as the facility can process into LNG, a sure sign that it was back at full power, according to data provider Refinitiv. The plant has been slowly pulling in more feedgas since the end of an eight-month outage in February, having shut after a fire in June 2022. Gas flows to Freeport LNG were on track to rise to 2.1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) on Thursday, up from 1.8 Bcf/d on Wednesday. REFINING
Reuters: Valero Seeks Approval to Import Venezuelan Oil - Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE:VLO) (San Antonio, Texas) is seeking Washington's permission to import Venezuelan crude, people close to the matter told Reuters. Venezuelan oil resumed flowing to the U.S. in January under a Treasury Department license granted to Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) (San Ramon, California) that allowed it to expand output there and export the oil. NATURAL GAS
Spain's Gas Capacity at 78% - Natural gas storage levels in Spain were at a record 78% of capacity at the end of the winter, national gas grid operator Enagas' (Madrid) Chief Executive Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri said on Thursday. Spanish gas exports to France through the interconnection between the neighboring countries also reached record levels last year, he added at the group's annual shareholder meeting. (Reuters)
