Europe's 'Big Six' Push Gas Ahead of U.N. Climate Talks - Europe's leading oil and gas companies have banded together to promote the "vital" role that gas can play in the fight against climate change. In a joint letter to the news media, they are calling on world leaders to take a measured approach to determining a pricing mechanism for carbon emissions at the United Nations (U.N.) climate summit in Paris, in December and touting the benefits of natural gas. The letter from the so-called "Big Six" is signed by the chief executives from BG Group plc (LSE:BG) (London, England), BP plc (NYSE:BP) (London, England), Eni SpA (Rome, Italy), Royal Dutch Shell (NYSE:RDS.A) (The Hague, Netherlands), Statoil ASA (NYSE:STO) (Stavangar, Norway) and Total S.A. (NYSE:TOT) (Paris, France).
EPA: No 'Widespread' Damage to Drinking Water from Fracking - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released a report saying that while the hydraulic fracturing process has infrequently corrupted localized water supplies, there has been no "widespread systemic impacts on drinking water." The draft assessment is the result of a five-year study.

Production from Chevron's Big Foot Platform Delayed - Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) (San Ramon, California) says that production from its Big Foot platform in the Gulf of Mexico, which was originally scheduled to begin in November 2014, will be delayed yet again, as nine tendons that secure the platform to the ocean floor have sunk recently. The project is expected to produce 75,000 barrels of oil and 25 million cubic feet of natural gas when it comes online.

Natural Gas Pipeline Ruptures in Arkansas - An auxiliary natural gas pipeline near Little Rock, Arkansas, belonging to Spectra Energy, ruptured on May 31, releasing approximately 4 million cubic feet of natural gas.
