Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--YTL Corporation Berhad (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) is developing what is touted to be the biggest green data center park in Malaysia.
The data center is to be located in the Kulai, Johor region. With an estimated total load capacity of 500 megawatts (MW), the project will be divided into four construction phases. It is to be powered by renewable energy sources (preferably solar power), which would be located within the vicinity of the site.
Phase I is in the permitting stage and is expected to have a 48-MW load capacity, split between two data-center buildings. The targeted commercial operation date for Phase I is the second quarter of 2024.
Industrial Info is tracking 11 projects that are tied to the green data center park. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Industrial Manufacturing project and plant databases can click here for the project reports and click here for the related plant profiles.
