Green Future Innovations' Philippine Ethanol Plant to be Completed by Mid-2012

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Investor-owned Green Future Innovations Incorporated (Pasig City, Philippines), an emerging ethanol producer in Asia, says that company's fuel ethanol plant currently under construction in San Mariano, Isabela, will be completed by mid-2012.

The venture includes Japan's ITOCHU Corporation (TYO:8001), JGC Corporation (TYO:1963) (Tokyo), the Philippine Bioethanol and Energy Investments Corporation, and Taiwanese holding company GCO.

Construction of the estimated US$136 million is about 75% complete and some 11,000 hectares of sugarcane feedstock are growing in a 25-kilometer radius from the plant site. The leftover bagasse material will be used to fire a 19-megawatt (MW) cogeneration plant, of which 6 MW will be used to run the plant, and the additional power will go to the national grid.

When fully operational, the plant will have the capacity to produce 54 million liters of fuel ethanol annually. The plant will create 15,000 overall jobs and help alleviate poverty in the province.
