Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited recently commissioned the Gorakhpur fertilizer plant in India, which will now produce 1,254,000 metric tons per year of urea and 726,000 metric tons per year of ammonia.

The restarting of this fertilizer plant, which was shuttered for nearly 30 years, has come as a major boost to urea production in India. The factory will now supply urea to the farmers of the Purvanchal region and from neighboring states as well. It also will open up opportunities in the field of packaging, transport, logistics, and support services. The plant will be powered by natural gas instead of naphtha.
