Bayport Polymers, a joint venture between Total and Borealis, continues commissioning of its new 2.2 billion-pound-per-year ethane cracker in Port Arthur, Texas. Commissioning and initial startup of the unit is expected to take place through late June.

Dow Chemical has begun a planned maintenance outage on the 1.65 billion-pound-per-year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit at its Freeport (Oyster Creek), Texas, plant. The turnaround of the unit previously was expected to kick off in third-quarter 2021, but due to an unexpected upset, the 30-day turnaround is now expected to last 60 to 90 days.

Dow Chemical continues a planned turnaround of its 1.1 billion-pound-per-year LHC 2 Ethylene unit in Plaquemine, Louisiana. The unit shut down on April 12 and is expected to restart in two to three weeks.

PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited has rescheduled a 38-day planned turnaround of the 661 million-pound-per-year HDPE 2 (I-1) unit, to September 1, at its Map Ta Phut Petrochemical Complex in Thailand. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by October 8.

The Polyolefin Company (Singapore) Private Limited has rescheduled a 21-day planned turnaround of the 474 million-pound-per-year Polypropylene Plant-2 in Jurong Island, Singapore to July 21. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the plant by August 10.

PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur started a 21-day maintenance turnaround of the 30,000-metric-ton-per-year Ammonia 04 unit on May 10 at its Bontang Ammonia-Urea Complex in Indonesia. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by May 30.
