PTTGC Becomes First SAF Producer in Thailand

PTTGC has started SAF production targeting 6 million liters per year utilizing used cooking oil and agricultural waste, with plans to increase the capacity to 24 million liters a year in the future as the demand for SAF rises.

SAF is a type of aviation fuel with similar properties to regular jet fuel, making it a suitable replacement but with a smaller carbon footprint. The Thai government is showing compelling support by starting to establish SAF policies and a regulatory framework including an SAF blend mandate in the coming years.
