Westlake Petrochemicals' 1.6 billion-pound-per-year Petro 1 ethylene unit in Sulphur, Louisiana, remains shut down following a fire on June 25.

Shintech Louisiana's 1.1 billion-pound-per-year ethylene unit in Plaquemine, Louisiana, remained online after a lightning strike hit a transformer and caused a fire at the plant on July 2.

GS Caltex Corporation restarted the 1.65 billion-pound-per-year Mixed Feed Cracker (MFC) Unit, 1.1 billion-pound-per-year High-Density Polyethylene Resins (HDPE) Unit and 948 million-pound-per-year propylene unit, on July 4, at its Yeosu Chemicals Plant in South Korea, after they were shut down on June 27 due to a heat exchanger issue on the MFC unit.

GAIL India Limited remains on schedule to begin a 15-day maintenance turnaround of the 992 million-pound-per-year Ethylene Unit 2 on October 7 at its Auraiya (Pata) Complex in India. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by October 21.

Azomures SA was forced to shut down the 350,000-metric-ton-per-year Ammonia Unit 03 at its Targu Mures Fertilizers Plant in Romania, on July 7, after an explosion. A damage assessment is underway.
