Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas) will highlight the release of its 2004 Global Industrial Outlook on Industry Today Monday, November 3. Special guests for this segment of Industry Today will include Mike Bergen, VP & Chief Research Officer and Trey Hamblet, VP & Chemicals Group Manager both previewing the significant changes and enhancements to this year's edition of the Industrial Outlook.
According to the outlook, nine industries will experience single digit growth (1.1% - 8.2%) for capital and maintenance spending in 2004. The Pharmaceutical & Biotech industry takes the lead with an estimated $17.2 billion in active capital projects representing an 8.2% increase from previous year activity. This marks several consecutive years of strong growth for the pharmaceutical & biotech industry.
After coming off a record-breaking year for capital spending, the power industry will decline by 10%, showing the largest decrease in spending. The decrease in spending is largely due to cancellation of many capacity addition projects and the decline in wholesale electric prices.
Every year, thousands of industrial leaders, contractors, vendors and plant owners anticipate the release of Industrialinfo.com's Global Industrial Outlook. The 2004 Global Industrial Outlook provides users with new and enhanced tables and graphs providing summaries and analytics of active projects by market region with downloadable images for use in external documents or presentations.
