International Paper to Replace Precipitator at Texas Mill

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Leading forest products company International Paper Company (NYSE:IP) (Memphis, Tennessee) plans to replace an electrostatic precipitator at the company's mill in Queen City, Texas. The company is considering a new wet-bottom precipitator that will be used to control particulate matter generated from the operation of the mill's No. 2 power boiler. IP plans to have the new precipitator in place during the first quarter of 2013.

The mill's No. 2 boiler produces approximately 750,000 pounds per hour of steam and is considered a hog-fueled boiler, burning oil, gas and waste material.

Located approximately 18 miles south of Texarkana, the mill began operations in 1972 and is a world leader in the production of coated bleached board and liquid packaging board. The mill supplies products to four major markets, including folding carton, cupstock, liquid packaging and food service board.
