Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Industrial Info is pleased to be releasing a complimentary podcast on the spending outlook for the global Pharmaceutical-Biotech Industry on Friday, July 11, at 3 p.m. CDT (4 p.m. EDT). Join Annette Kreuger, vice president of research for the Pharma-Biotech Industry, as she discusses what's happening in this dynamic sector and what to expect in the coming years.
Industrial Info is tracking more than $670 billion of active pharmaceutical-biotech projects across the world, with leader North America contributing more than $357 billion in current and potential projects.
Within the U.S., the Northeast market region, which includes Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, leads in potential project spending, although much of this comes from a few blockbuster projects that are still in their very early days of planning. The Great Lakes and New England market regions round out the top three areas for U.S. life-science spending.
Of the pharma-biotech projects presently under construction in the U.S. (and throughout the world), several come with price tags of more than $1 billion, with some of the biggest players in the industry, including Eli Lilly and Company (Indianapolis, Indiana) and Novo Nordisk A/S (Bagsværd, Denmark) contributing several billion dollars toward individual projects. The largest project underway in the U.S. comes from Eli Lilly, which is laying down more than $7 billion for a multi-building campus in its home state of Indiana. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Project Database can learn more by viewing the project report.
Our presenters will discuss the trends shaping pharma-biotech spending throughout the world and the areas where we expect to see investment develop in the coming years. The Pharmaceutical-Biotech Industry is one of the most rapidly changing sectors that IIR tracks, with new treatments constantly vying to outperform the status quo while facing stringent regulatory oversight as companies spend for both research and development and manufacturing.
We hope that you are able to join us for this presentation. For those outside of North America, the podcast will be repeated for audiences in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
