Nordex to Supply WKN USA Windfarm

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Jonesboro, Arkansas, office of Nordex SE (Jonesboro, Arkansas) has inked a deal with WKN USA (San Diego, California) for the delivery of 12 wind turbines. WKN USA is building the Mozart Windfarm about 60 miles northwest of Abilene, Texas. The facility will have a generating capacity of 30 megawatts.

The Nordex N100/2500 turbines will be manufactured in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The rotor has a diameter of 100 meters. Depending on the wind speed, electrical consumption, and size of the home, each wind turbine can produce enough electricity to power about 700 homes. Upon completion, the Mozart Windfarm will supply 9,000 homes with electricity at maximum output capacity. The order is expected to completed and delivered to the site by the third quarter 2012.

Signal Energy will provide oversight in the construction of this project, which is expected to begin commercial operations before the end of the year.
