Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The signing ceremony for the Engineering Service Contract of KSK Energy Ventures Limited's (Hyderabad, India) 3,600-megawatt (MW) power plant project in India was held in Jinan, the capital of North China's Shandong province on April 16, 2009. Northeast Electric Power Design Institute (NEPDI) (Changchun, Jilin), a regional subsidiary of China Power Engineering Consultancy Corporation (Beijing), and Shandong Electric Power Construction No.1 Company (SEPCC1) (Jinan, Shandong), a subsidiary of Shandong Electric Power Construction Corporation (Jinan) will be responsible for engineering services for the plant.
Zuoxin Hou, General Manager of SEPCC1; Lianming Sun, General Manager of SEPCC1 International Engineering Corporation; Danfeng Xue, Vice President of NEPDI; Xiangtao Lv, Deputy Chief Engineer of NEPDI and Director of NEPDI's International Business Department and other leaders and representatives attended the ceremony.
The 3,600-MW power plant project is a huge power project invested by WCPCL Company Limited (India), a subsidiary of KSK. The project involves the construction of six 600-MW coal-fired units to be built in the same stage. SEPCC1, with support from NEPDI, won the general contract from KSK in an international competitive bidding process. As the general contractor of the project, SEPCC1 is responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the project.
"The successful signing of the engineering service contract is an important milestone for NEPDI in expanding its international market, and will further improve its influence in India as well as the international market," the NEPDI said in an announcement.
SEPCC is a leading power contractor in China and now is a subsidiary of the State Grid Corporation of China (Beijing). Prior to the project, SEPCC successfully won several engineering, procurement and construction contracts for power projects in India, including the 3,600-MW project in Jharsuguda and a 135-MW in Rajasthan.
