Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Construction trailers are being mobilized, as PCS Phosphate Company Incorporated (Northbrook, Illinois), a subsidiary of Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Incorporated (NYSE:POT)(Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), expects civil construction and excavation to begin next week for a major expansion of its Purified Acid Plant (PAP) in Aurora, North Carolina. This expansion will include the addition of a new production unit to produce an estimated 82,000 metric tons per year of purified phosphoric acid.
The Aurora plant site also includes four large sulfuric acid units, ranging in size from 2,000 to 3,700 tons per day each. The combination of sulfuric acid and purified acid units continues to play a significant role in PCS's ability to meet the increasing demand for high quality and purified grades of phosphoric acid.
