Philippines' Department of Energy Explores Hydrogen Potential

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Philippines' Department of Energy (DOE) recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Hydrogen Technology Incorporated (HTI), a Tokyo-based hydrogen gas company, to explore the Southeast Asian country's potential to generate energy from hydrogen fuel.

Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said HTI's expertise and technology could bolster the Philippines' research and development and introduce hydrogen-fueled power-generating plants.

In December 2020, the DOE coordinated with other foreign experts to conduct the studies. The DOE has been searching for environmentally efficient solutions to the country's challenges in power generation.
