Pine Lake Corn Processors Ethanol Plant Under Construction in Iowa

Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Cooperative-owned, Pine Lake Corn Processors LLC (Eldora, Iowa) is well underway with construction for a new fuel ethanol plant, located just north of Steamboat Rock, Iowa.

Concrete pouring and site work is nearing completion and construction of the plant's main building structures are scheduled to begin soon, for the 20 million gallon per year corn-based ethanol plant.

The cooperative selected Delta-T Corporation (Williamsburg, Virginia) to provide the process technology, engineering, and construction management for the project and Monsanto Enviro-Chem Systems (Saint Louis, Missouri) was selected as the construction general contractor. Nobel Americas (Stamford, Connecticut) will market the ethanol.

Construction on the plant's main 41,600 square foot process and utilities building, 5,400 square foot fermentation building, and four-level 2,400 square foot dried distillers' grain buildings will all begin erection within the next 30 days.

The plant will chew up some 7.5 million bushels of locally-grown corn per year to produce the 20 million gallons of ethanol.

Mechanical completion of this estimated $26 million project is set for January of next year and after a 30 day start-up and batching period, the plant should be producing ethanol by February of 2005.

Pine Lake Corn Processors was formed for the purpose of building, owning, and operating an ethanol production facility. Some 400 local central Iowa farmers, community members, and other Iowa investors came together to make this plant possible.
