Pine Valley Foods Planning New National Distribution Center in Louisiana

To consolidate operations, Pine Valley is planning to construct a new $3.6 million 60,000 square foot building to provide the business with cold storage and distribution services for the company's line of school fundraiser products.

The new center will be mainly utilized for finished product storage and distribution, however, light mixing, processing, and packaging will also be located in the new building and five processing lines will be included in the project.

Pine Valley selected RSH Engineering (Monroe, Louisiana) as the general contractor for the job and construction is scheduled to begin this week.

The new center is expected to create about 120 new jobs in the area once completed in the Spring of 2004.

The company also received about $532,000 in financial aid from the state that competed with Missouri for the location of the project.
