Industrial Info is tracking more than $5.2 billion in active Chemical Processing projects in Algeria. Among them, STEP, a joint venture by Sonatrach and Total, plans to spend $2.5 billion to develop the first-ever polypropylene manufacturing complex in the country. The mega project will include a 650,000-ton-per-year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit. Total recently commenced front-end engineering design activity for the project and expects to complete the complex by 2023.
