Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In June 2008, the power generation output in China reached 289.58 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), up 10.10% compared with the same period last year, according to the monthly report of the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) (Beijing). Specific types of power generation changed as follows:
Hydropower reached 57.00 billion kWh, up 21.26%
Thermal power reached 227.72 billion kWh, up 8.13%
Nuclear power reached 4.87 billion kWh, down 10.03%
Regarding year-on-year comparisons for various regional grids, SGCC reported the following:
North China's maximum load reached 105.44 million kilowatts (kW), up 1.17% from last year
East China's maximum load reached 110.48 million kW, up 3.21%
Central China's maximum load reached 73.74 million kW, up 11.00%
Northeast China's maximum load reached 33.90 million kW, up 7.04%
Northwest China's maximum load reached 25.60 million kW, up 11.35%
In June, the growth rate of power consumption under direct dispatching of the SGCC in North China, Central China and Southwest China was above the national average, and the growth rate reached 10.78%, 16.84% and 15.73% respectively.
The trade volume in the National Electric Power Market in June reached 11.705 billion KWh, which is equivalent to 89.57% of the planned volume.
Power transmission from Northeast China to North China reached 343 million KWh.
Power transmission from Northwest China to Central China reached 260 million KWh.
Power transmission from Central China to East China reached 770 million KWh.
On-grid electricity from the Three Gorges reached 7.60 billion KWh, of which 4.12 billion KWh was transmitted to East China, 1.30 billion KWh to Central China, and 2.18 billion KWh to the China Southern Power Grid; power transmission from Yangcheng to Jiangsu reached 1.67 billion KWh; and the on-grid electricity from Jinjie Power Plant reached 523 million KWh.
In July, the planned trade volume in the National Electric Power Market under direct dispatching will reach 14.90 billion kWh.
