Data centers feature prominently in the region's upcoming project activity. Among the largest of these is Edgecore Internet Real Estate's (Denver, Colorado) planned construction of a colocation data center campus near Reno, Nevada. At a 56-acre site, six buildings will be built of approximately 180,000 square feet each. The facility will include 225 megawatts of critical load power, a battery backup system and an onsite substation. The $480 million project is expected to be completed in 2025. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Also near Reno, Switch SUPERNAP LLC (Las Vegas, Nevada) will construct a fifth building totaling 935,000 square feet at its data center campus. The systems will include a fiber optic network "superloop" that will connect Reno, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco to dramatically increase the speed data can travel among the cities. BlueScope Construction Incorporated (Kansas City, Missouri) is the general contractor on the project, which has an estimated total investment value (TIV) of $148 million. Construction is expected to begin by the end of this year and be completed in early 2021. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

On the transportation front, in Billings, Montana, the Logan International Airport will expand an existing terminal building and install supporting equipment to increase airport capacity. The project involves constructing an expanded check-in area, additional gates, new passenger loading bridges and baggage-handling equipment. The project is expected to take about two years to complete. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

In Nevada, the Las Vegas Convention Center will expand its people mover, which runs under the center. The people mover will carry people in autonomous electric vehicles on a roughly one-mile loop housed within a concrete tunnel that is 12 feet in diameter. Three stations will help connect the center's new exhibit hall with the existing campus. Cordell Corporation (Las Vegas) is the project manager. The expansion is expected to be completed in early 2021. The project has a TIV of $48.7 million. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

More traditional manufacturing projects also are coming up in the region. In Hildale, Utah, in the southeast of the state, Infab Corporation (Camarillo, California) plans to renovate an existing 60,000-square-foot building to manufacture lead aprons and radiation protection equipment to use when taking X-rays. The project is expected to kick off by the end of this year and be completed in first-quarter 2020. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

In Church Rock, New Mexico, about 130 miles northwest of Albuquerque, Rhino Health Incorporated (Church Rock) plans to begin a Phase III expansion of its nitrile glove manufacturing plant. The project includes constructing a 150,000-square-foot building addition with six production lines to increase production capacity and provide additional warehouse space. The $20 million project is expected to kick off by the end of this year and be completed in the first half of 2020. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
