Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Shandong Electric Power Construction No. 1 Company (SEPCO1) (Jinan, Shandong) received the Notice of Bid Award issued by Beijing Guodian Engineering Tendering Company Limited (Beijing) for bids C and D on the main construction and erection works of Datang Binzhou Power Generation Company Limited's (Binzhou, Shandong) 700-megawatt (MW) Binbei grassroot cogeneration project. SEPCO1 announced the award on September 24.
According to the notice, SEPCO1 will be responsible for the construction and erection of the chimney structure (Bid C), and the construction and erection of the cooling towers, circulation water pump room and circulating water pipeline works (Bid D).
The Datang Binzhou Coal-fired Cogeneration Power Project, which is located at the Binbei Street Office, Bincheng District of Binzhou City, in northern China's Shandong province, is owned by Datang Shandong Power Generation Company Limited (Jinan, Shandong), with a total investment of about $450 million in the initial stage. The project received preliminary approval from the National Energy Administration to kick off preparation in November 2011. According to the approval, the project will include two 350-MW, supercritical, combined-heat and power units.
The main turbine, generator and boiler (TGB) equipment was awarded to Harbin Electric Corporation (Harbin, Heilongjiang) at the beginning of 2012. Preliminary engineering for the project passed the examination of an expert panel in May 2012. Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consultation Institute (SEPECI) (Jinan, Shandong) is now at work on the detailed engineering.
According to the schedule, the first unit of the project will go into operation in October 2014. Upon completion, it will be able to supply heat for an area of 13 million square meters and 160 tons per hour of steam for its industrial users, and replace 177 small, coal-fired boilers scattered in its service area. However, the project is still subject to final approval from the National Development and Reform Commission.
