Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). EVAL Company of America (Pasadena, Texas), a subsidiary of Kuraray Company Limited (Osaka, Japan) has selected JGC Corporation (Yokohama, Japan) as the engineering and construction contractor for its plans to double the production of EVOH (ethylene vinyl alcohol) at their plant located in Pasadena, Texas. EVOH is used to produce high-performance resins with excellent gas-barrier properties that enable it to eliminate contamination from oxygen or other gases and vapors. Demand for EVOH resin and film continues to rise as its popularity in automotive applications and consumer products, including cosmetic and pharmaceutical packaging, increases.
