ExxonMobil Chemical has begun shutdown procedures for an approximately 45-day turnaround at its 2,600 million-pound-per-year BOP ethylene unit in Baytown, Texas. Expectations are to restart the unit in late February.

LyondellBasell, on January 12, was forced to shut down its 1,900 million-pound-per-year OP 1 olefins unit in Channelview, Texas, due to a loss of steam. LyondellBasell is assessing damages to determine a timeline for restart. The 1,900 million-pound-per-year OP2 olefins unit remains operational.

Braskem, on January 9, started a 40-day turnaround of the 450 million-pound-per-year green ethylene unit at its Triunfo plant in Brazil. The unit is expected to remain offline until mid-February, and will undergo maintenance work and the implementation of a unit expansion project that aims to increase the unit's capacity to 573 million pounds per year.

Japan Polyethylene Corporation, on January 10, started a 32-day turnaround of the 137.45 million-pound-per-year Low Density Polyethylene Resins (LDPE) Unit No.F1 at its Oita Polyethylene Plant in Japan. Expectations are to restart The unit by February 10.
