Sasol, on January 7, began a three-week outage at its 920 million-pound-per-year ethylene (East) unit in Westlake (Lake Charles), Louisiana. Expectations are to restart the unit by January 27.

Naftan OJSC remains on schedule for planned maintenance at its Novopolock Polymer Chemical Complex in Belarus. The 30-day maintenance on the 162 million-pound-per-year Olefins EP-60-1 (Area 101) ethylene, 154.3 million-pound-per-year Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) 01 and 169 million-pound-per-year Olefins EP-60-2 (Area 104) ethylene units are scheduled to begin in early April.
